Swine Systems Inc. is a family owned and operated business. The families involved are the Runyan's and the Bailey's. Both families' livelihoods are centered around producing quality breeding stock that work for our customers. A common belief held by all involved is that the business must be operated with integrity and honesty. We enjoy working with customers to help improve their profitability. We will not sell what we would not use in one of our own operations. Lastly, we are much better in producing and improving pigs than in being salesmen.

Swine Systems Inc. represents five distinct pure lines of hogs. We strongly believe in having different lines that are bred to have a distinct purpose in a breeding program. Our main maternal line is an 1,100 sow herd of pure Landrace that has averaged over 150 -lb. 21-day weights for over 10 years, and are selected for durability and high fertility for easy breed back and excellent born alive numbers.

We also have high lean lines imported from Sweden that have a tested background for lean growth back to 1923, using indexes since 1973 and BLUP starting in l985.

We believe the excellent figures our complete program produces is because of the high level of heterosis achieved through the crossing of these elite pure line. The following practical and technical selection tools are ulitized in our systems.
